Head Coach
Joseph started his love for athletics at a young age and it continued through playing collegiate baseball. He moved on to pursue a career in pharmacy and continued his passion by running a youth baseball organization in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Upon completion of his residency, Joseph moved to Houston from Colorado, and it was at this time he found Covenant. After searching for the right programming to fit his athletic background, Joseph credits Covenant for providing a facility that is dedicated to functional strength and conditioning training. Furthermore, he believes in the Mata Method and its ability to create a community of individuals that support one another to achieve their personal goals. You will commonly find Joseph at Covenant during his extra time because what he enjoys most is the members and the positive influence they have on his life. Joseph’s future goals span both his professional and fitness life. He works as the Operations Manager for a national pharmacy organization and would love to work his way further up the corporate ladder. Joseph would also like to complete a marathon in 3.5 hours as it challenges the mind just as much as the body. Joseph is often traveling both for work and pleasure but in his spare time he loves live sporting events. With his love for baseball do not be surprised if you see him at the Astros game. Joseph is committed to helping Covenant members reach their goals and strives to be a positive influence in the community.

Nikolle Setley
Coach
Nikolle began her fitness journey in college after starting a part-time job at Gold’s Gym. After years of bodybuilding programs and too much plain boiled chicken and brown rice, she found CrossFit and ultimately her love for strength and conditioning. With six years of class-based coaching experience under her belt, she’s having a blast coaching at Covenant with the freedom to focus on what she finds most important – building personal connections, teaching the importance of balance and sustainable movement practices, and using the gym environment to empower members outside of their one hour of fitness each day. Nikolle is currently studying for certification of one of the industry’s top women’s programs – the Girls Gone Strong Women’s Coaching Specialist Certification. Covering a comprehensive list of topics – mental health, body image issues, disordered eating, hormonal concerns, pregnancy – pre and post, menopause, etc. – this certification will allow Nikolle to better serve and focus solely on issues specifically experienced by women. Outside of the gym, Nikolle is likely at home on the couch reading a book or binging a TV show she’s already seen 100 times, sitting on a patio eating at one of her five favorite restaurants, or, as of late, running at Memorial Park.
